Animal Welfare

How we ensure the happiness and safety of the animals in our care

At Yoga Paws, animal welfare is at the heart of everything we do. From partnering with ethical breeders and shelters to maintaining a clean, safe environment, we’re committed to ensuring every puppy and kitten feels loved and cared for. Here’s how we make it happen.

(1) Ethical Breeding Partnerships

We only work with ethical, verified breeders who meet our high standards for animal care. No backyard breeders. No questionable practices. Ever. Every breeder is vetted in advance to ensure the animals come from safe, healthy, and loving environments. Plus, we only feature one litter of puppies per event, so the little ones aren’t overwhelmed. This approach allows the puppies to enjoy the day without any added stress or overexposure.

(2) An Animal-First Experience

We view our sessions as a socialisation programme for the puppies and kittens. It’s all about what they want—if they want to play, they play. If they want to nap, we provide bedding so they can snooze in comfort. The studios we work with are temperature-controlled, clean, and designed with animal comfort in mind. We also provide toys, bedding, and food (as recommended by the breeder) to keep them happy throughout the day.

(3) Studio Cleanliness: Spotless from Start to Finish

We believe a clean studio is a happy studio—for both humans and animals. That’s why our space undergoes a deep clean before the first session, between every session, and again at the end of the day. We sanitize, deodorize, vacuum, and scrub every nook and cranny to create a safe and hygienic environment. Shoes, bags, and other belongings? They’re kept far away from the animals to prevent contamination, and every student sanitizes their hands upon entry. Feeling unwell? No problem—we’ll kindly ask you to sit this one out (it’s for the pups, after all).

(4) We’re More Than Business Partners

Our connection to the animals goes beyond the yoga mat. We’re proud to say that one of our students recently adopted a puppy from an event, and as I write this, guess who’s babysitting the little fluffball while the owner’s away? That’s right—my partner and I are! We don’t just care for the animals during the sessions—we’re there for them long after. As lifelong puppy owners, we know how much love and care they deserve, and we’re committed to giving them exactly that.

(5) Shelter Events: A Work in Progress

We also host shelter events from time to time. To be transparent, it’s not as often as we’d like. Whether it’s knocking on their doors, making calls, or sending countless emails, shelters can be surprisingly hard to get on board. But that doesn’t stop us from trying. We’re constantly seeking shelters to partner with so we can bring their puppies into this warm and gentle socialisation programme. Every shelter event feels like a win, and we’re committed to doing more of them in the future.

(6) Why We Do What We Do

For us, this isn’t just a business. It’s about creating a positive, enriching experience for everyone involved—both humans and animals. We’re here to help puppies build confidence, get socialised, and maybe even find their forever homes (we see you, puppy adopters). And yes, we’re the type of people who get just as excited about the puppies as you do.
